seoulSouth Korea - Overview

South Korea is a country located in East Asia. It takes up the southern half of the Korean Peninsula that lies between the Yellow Sea and the Sea of Japan. It is bordered to the north by North Korea and Japan lies across Korea to the southeast. The government is a republic and the country is home to approximately 49 million people as of July 2007. South Korea's capital city, Seoul, is a global financial and cultural center and the second largest metropolitan city in the world.

South Korea is an outstanding country filled with beautiful beaches, bustling cities, temples, amazing natural scenery and most of all, friendly people.

Among the reasons why South Korea is a famous destination for international business and tourism are the dense urban centers, developed parks and recreational facilities, high tech infrastructure and very modern public transportation.

People from South Korea are one of the friendliest people in the world. It is believed that South Koreans are direct descendants of mongol tribes who migrated into the Korean Peninsula about half a million years ago.
